Tribute

It is with deep sorrow and much love that we announce the passing of Bill Stevenson on February 10, 2024. He passed peacefully with his family by his side.

A lifelong resident of the Bay Area, Bill was born in Castro Valley at Eden Hospital just minutes after his twin sister Becky on August 18, 1959. Bill attended Arroyo High School, graduated from San Jose State School Of Engineering, and continued his education in graduate school at JFK University in Walnut Creek.

Bill was married to the love of his life Luanne for 20 years and became a beloved step-father to her two children, Jeff and Jamie. He became a very involved Grandpa to six grandchildren that were a constant delight. He loved taking them boating, sharing his love of Porsche's, attending dance recitals and ballgames, and making pancakes with funny faces.

As a lifelong athlete, Bill enjoyed playing all kinds of sports. He especially loved and looked forward to his annual ski trips with college and high school buddies.

Bill could be found enjoying what life has to offer by camping in his Air Stream with Luanne, abalone diving, cruising on a houseboat with family, traveling and creating his renowned smoked salmon.

Bill adored and was loved by his wet nosed canine companion, Abby.  His loyal yellow lab followed him everywhere, and was welcomed by his co-workers at Frank & Grossman on Fridays, where she would roam the building looking for treats.

In his long, varied career as a manager, he became a mentor and coach to many. Bill shared so much of himself and his knowledge, his employees blossomed and many became extended family and friends.

Bill is now united with parents Hollis and Janie Stevenson and brother Jerry. He is survived by his wife Luanne, step children Jamie, Jeff and his wife Christine and his six grandchildren Aleena, Anthony, Serena, Melia, Luca and Nathan. He is also survived by his twin sister Becky and her husband Scott Whitaker and their daughter Rachel.

Bill passed at the age of 64 and will be missed by many.
