Obituary

Carol Lee (Matson) Burnett was born in San Francisco on October 3, 1938 to Toinie Alie (Johanson) Matson of Eureka and Arne Edwin Matson of San Francisco. She passed on January 11, 2018 in Concord, Ca. She is predeceased by her husband Allan John Burnett of Detroit, Michigan who served in the U.S. Marine corps. They were married 25 years. Carol attended Polytechnic High School and city college of San Francisco. She worked at Del Monte Corporate in San Francisco and Western Auto Carriers in Concord. She enjoyed playing bingo, pinochle, & puzzles. Her hobbies were stamp collecting, knitting and she was a San Francisco Giants and 49er fan. She loved to travel. She is survived by her daughters Yvonne and Carla and grandchildren Mila, Alex (Enrique) and Dean Jr. sister Marlene Darling and niece Jessica. All of her grandparents were born in Finland. She lived in San Francisco, San Diego and Martinez since 1964. A memorial service will be held at Grace Episcopal Church in Martinez on January 21, 2018 at 4:00 with a celebration of life to follow after the service.
