Obituary for William F. Miller
On the evening of November 29, 2017, after a 25 year battle with Parkinson’s Disease, William Fowler Miller Jr. 74, of Concord, CA, passed away peacefully at home, loving family by his side.
Bill was born on January 17, 1943 in Troy, New York, to William and Olive(Tracz) Miller.
Bill is survived by his loving and dedicated wife of 52 years Pamela, daughter Michelle (C.J.) Sveen, twin sons William (Jennifer) and Paul (Jenara) Miller, 4 beautiful grandchildren, Carsten and Lauren Sveen, Marysa Miller and Curtis Miller. His sister, Joanne Miller, niece, Adriayn (Pat) Lee and extended family member, Lanie Ramos. Bill was a loving father, husband, grandfather and friend to all.
Bill was a professional photographer and salesman for Leica cameras. He learned his lifelong craft while working for the yearbook at Mt Diablo High in Concord Ca. (Grad of 1961) In the early 60’s and 70’s he managed UC Photo in Berkeley CA. While there he created his photography business Creative Image. Through his photography he was able to provide precious, lasting memories for so many people. Bill loved a good book, camping with family, Sunday breakfast, long drives to discover new places, long talks with family and friends. If anyone had a problem, Bill was always there to help. He enjoyed learning new things. He fell in love with computers when he bought our first Macintosh in 1994. He would fix broken computers and donate them to area schools. Bill worked with the City of Concord to form the Meadow Homes Good Neighbors Assn. and volunteered his time with Christmas in April.
Viewing will be from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM, Wednesday, November 6th at the chapel in Oakmont Memorial Park. A rosary service will follow from 7:00 PM to 8:00 PM.
Burial services will be Thursday, December 7th at 1:00 PM at the Oakmont Chapel in Lafayette. He will be laid to rest there in the Garden of Serenity at 2:00 PM.
