Obituary for Marion J. Clark
Marion Jeanette Clark, age 95, peacefully departed to heaven to join her husband, Ernest (Ernie) Clark on Sunday, October 1st in Brentwood, CA, surrounded by her loving family.
Marion was born in Rochester, MN and lived most of her childhood in Austin, MN. She lost her dad at age 5 and when she turned 14, her mom Betty remarried, Thomas Griffith and they moved to Billings, MT were she graduated high school. After Business College, she worked for Mulvany Motors and met the love of her life, Ernie. They were married in 1942 and moved to California to start a new life and a family of their own. Marion lived 71 years in Contra Costa County.
Her family was everything to her. Remembering a birthday or anniversary or special milestone was extremely important and she always remembered her loved ones and made sure she cooked her homemade fudge for each and every occasion; it was devoured in a matter of minutes upon her arrival. Traditions were important and were instilled in her children to pass on to their own children. Cooking meals from scratch and reading were her favorite pastimes. Marion was adored by all. She is survived by her son, Gary Clark and wife, Caryn; her daughter, Sheri Dickson and husband, Bob; her 9 grandchildren, Cathy (Tim), Jim (Brenda), Diane (Dan), Matt (Andrea), Christina (Joey), Nicole, Cindy (Tom), Aleen (Larry), Wynn (Stacie) and her 15 great-grandchildren. Services will be held on Friday, October 6th at Oakmont Memorial Park, Redwood Chapel in Lafayette at 10 a.m.
